Brookhaven Station Skip Stop: Oct. 7 to Nov. 15, 2024
Rider Alert: Gold Line trains will not stop at Brookhaven Station while we renovate the platform.
Bus shuttles will serve Brookhaven from Lenox (northbound) and Chamblee (southbound). Please allow an extra 15 minutes for your trip. Local bus routes (8, 25, 47, and 110) are unchanged.
Parking at Brookhaven will be open. Customers who drive can also park at Lenox, Chamblee, Doraville, or Lindbergh.
Project Overview
As part of its Capital Improvement Program, MARTA is renovating the platform at Brookhaven Station to ensure safety and maintain the Station’s State of Good Repair. Brookhaven Station opened in 1984 and is approaching its 40th birthday. During that time, the pavers on the platform have deteriorated from exposure to the elements and foot traffic. We need to fix it before it affects safety and accessibility for our customers.
Image description: The image above shows the platform of MARTA’s Brookhaven Station looking north. The brick pavers are cracked and missing.
During the platform renovation, the trains will not stop at Brookhaven Station but will continue service to the rest of the Gold Line as usual. By temporarily keeping customers out of the work zone, we can shorten the overall project schedule by almost two years and reduce costs by $9 million.
During the six-week Skip Stop, we will perform the following tasks:
- Demolition of existing flooring
- Installation of new tile flooring
- Installation of new tactile warning strips on platform edges
- Installation of new expansion joints, benches, and trash receptacles
- Pressure-washing, sealing and graffiti resistant coating applied to concrete areas
This will be an inconvenience for customers who start, end, and make transfers at Brookhaven. We apologize for this impact and thank you for your patience as we put in the work to keep this Station running for another 40 years and beyond.
